Trail ride

Karen didn't make it to the barn today (heat wimp!!) so I went to take Hobbes out bareback. I love his bitless bridle, by the way. It got rather wet though today, because we went to the creek and Hobbes was a bit more playful than usual. He also pooped in there. How nice. We stopped at Smile on the way and saw a big buck, and Hobbes was pretty curious. On the way to the creek, Al and his owner (a redheaded woman...I'm afraid I don't know her name) caught up to us and we walked up to the creek together. Al and Hobbes were fine together. Hobbes really had fun in the creek together; even I got wet on him, he was fussing and playing so much!

Then we went up to equitation and grazed for a bit. Two men were at the picnic tables...they were acting really weird though, so I got kind of scared and decided to go home. I felt kind of bad because Hobbes didn't know why I was nervous. I'm glad I left though, those guys were acting pretty weird. Hobbes loved the galloping field of course. When we got home, we grazed to cool off a bit and got a nice groom. He had turn out from 4-5 too.

I've noticed this on Hobbes on trail alot; he just stops randomly and looks around for a bit. Does he do this with you guys? Like every few minutes he just stops. It's kind of weird. Maybe it was because he knew Al was behind us a little ways, but he's also done it other times when we're alone.
