Some pics of the 4th of July at the fair. Somehow I don't have a single picture of Lana Bo. I don't know how that happened. (well, I do. I didn't take any pics at the parade, and she napped during the fair.)
This was the bouncy slide. It was pretty big & the kids had to climb up while holding onto the "railing". I was a little nervous, but Luke did great & wasn't scared at all.
He went on this about 5 more times. Every ride he went on was his "favorite" once it was over, but I think this was probably his actual favorite.
Here are the pony rides that he decided halfway through he didn't want to do anymore. (Honestly, I agreed. There were flies everywhere, it was hot and they smelled. The one he was on pooped everywhere while he was riding it. GROSS! Even as a kid I've never been a pony girl...unless they were plastic with flowing pink hair & flowers on their butts - of the "My Little" variety.) The picture turned out cute, though:
it was a very fun day. I think Luke went on every ride at least twice, with the exception of the pony rides. (The smelly $5.00 pony rides!) We had a BBQ at my grandpa's house & Luke got to play with Jessica & Nicole. The girls are awesome with him, they are so sweet & run all around the backyard with him.
We watched the fireworks from Schalm - something we (I, at least) have never done. Growing up I always watched them from my parents backyard, and then in highschool all of the kids watched them from the 50 yard line. Those were some fun times...basically the entire highschool was out there. I don't know that we will be watching from Schalm anymore, though, some firework schrapnel kept flying over by us. Luke fell asleep halfway through, Lana stayed at my mom's house because she was supposed to be asleep, but the sound of the fireworks woke her up & she ended up watching them with Meme on the couch through my parent's living room window.
